Sheesh, Corvallis "ain't" that small. In fact it is Oregon's 10th largest municipality. Secondly, in case you have forgotten on the west side of town there happens to be a small college. Perhaps you have heard of it, Oregon State University.
Having a MAJOR institution of higher learning in a "small town" tends to give a community a more broader prospective.
If I am not mistaken, even Seal Rock, just south of Newport with a population of, what(?) 150(?), has a Japanese restaurant.
You're selling "Corn Valley" short.
By the way, heck of basketball team those Beavs have!
