SuperDeluxe, an art space and gallery in Roppongi, Tokyo, will host in mid-May a photography exhibit by the art group The Naked Tokyo Collective (NTC).
With the theme "Contemporary Portraiture from Tokyo," NTC artists were encouraged "to explore and expand on standard assumptions of portraiture by focusing on self-portraiture, sex, eroticism, and anonymous nudity."
NTC applies a potent mix of shock and serenity, humor and seduction, to the art of contemporary portraiture.
All of the works were created in 2007 specifically for this exhibition, and the show is anticipated to be highly controversial.
This photographic, multi-media exhibition will take place for one day only, May 14th, at SuperDeluxe.
According to an NTC press release: "Naked Tokyo is an international collective of photographers who apply their signature aggressive and shocking styles to interpreting this big city, stripping it bare to reveal the Naked Tokyo within."
